Real-time Updates for Your Point of Sale
Your NovaStores Point of Sale (POS) terminal stays perfectly in sync with your product catalog, ensuring that any changes you make to product prices or stock levels are instantly reflected for your sales staff.
How it works
When you update a product in your NovaStores dashboard (for example, by changing its base price or adjusting its inventory), this change is automatically sent to all active POS terminals for that store. The update happens in real-time, often within seconds, without anyone needing to refresh the POS screen.
This means your team always sees the correct, current pricing and stock availability, helping prevent errors and ensuring a smooth checkout process for your customers.
What to expect
- Price Changes: If you adjust a product's price in your dashboard, the new price will appear on the product card on the POS terminal. If the item is already in the cart, its price will update there too.
- Stock Levels: While this feature primarily focuses on price, stock level changes also propagate to the POS. Products that go out of stock will reflect this, helping your staff manage expectations.
- No Manual Sync Needed: You do not need to click a "sync" button on the POS for these specific product updates to take effect. They appear automatically.
- No Refresh: Your staff can continue using the POS without interruption. The changes are applied seamlessly in the background.
Permissions
To manage products and see these updates on the POS, your staff member needs the 'Manage Products' permission. To operate the POS terminal itself, they need the 'Create Orders (POS Terminal)' permission. You can review and adjust staff permissions under Staff.
