Spend & Save Promotions
Easily create discounts that activate when customers spend a certain amount, boosting average order value.
Create a Spend & Save Promotion
Encourage customers to spend more by offering automatic discounts based on their total order value. These promotions apply instantly in the customer's cart.
- From your NovaStores dashboard, navigate to your Loyalty section.
- If you have no promotions yet, click the Create Your First Promotion button. Otherwise, click Create Promotion.
- On the 'Create a New Deal or Reward' page, scroll down and click the Spend Amount, Get Discount card.
- On the promotion setup page:
- Give this promotion a name: A default name like 'Spend $50 Get 10% Off' will be pre-filled. You can change it if you wish.
- Minimum spend required: Enter the amount customers must spend to qualify for the discount (e.g.,
50). - Discount Type: Choose 'Percentage off' or 'Fixed amount off'.
- Discount amount: Enter the value for the chosen discount type (e.g.,
10for 10% off). - The 'This promotion is active and available to customers' checkbox is ticked by default. Keep it ticked for the promotion to be live.
- Click the Create Promotion button at the bottom of the page.
Your new promotion will now be active and visible on your storefront.
How it works for customers
Once active, your 'Spend & Save' promotion will be advertised on your storefront's home page. When a customer adds items to their cart and their subtotal meets or exceeds the minimum spend amount, the discount is automatically applied. The applied discount, along with the updated order total, will be clearly shown in their cart summary before they proceed to checkout.
