Offer Customer Currency Options
Let shoppers view prices in their local currency for a seamless global experience.
Offering Multiple Currencies
To let your customers view prices in different currencies, you can enable additional display currencies in your store settings. Your base currency is your primary currency for all transactions and reporting, but you can add others for display purposes on your storefront.
Customers will then be able to switch between these currencies directly on your site, seeing prices automatically converted. This helps build trust and makes shopping easier for international buyers.
Steps to Enable Additional Currencies:
- From your NovaStores dashboard, open your General Settings.
- Click on the Currency tab.
- In the "Additional Display Currencies" section, you will see a list of available currencies. Your base currency will not be listed here, as it is always active.
- Check the box next to each currency you wish to offer your customers (e.g., EUR (€)).
- Scroll down and click the Save Currency Settings button.
Once saved, a currency switcher will appear on your storefront, allowing customers to select their preferred viewing currency.
Important Note on Base Currency:
The "Base Currency" setting defines the currency your product prices are entered in and how your reports are calculated. If you change your base currency on a store with existing products, the numeric values of your prices will remain the same. For example, a product priced at $19.99 will become €19.99. You will need to manually re-enter prices if you intend to re-base your store completely.
